Founded in 2007, the Central Wisconsin Nature Foundation is a not-for-profit environmental organization based in the Town of Rome in Adams County, Wisconsin. With 501c3 status, all donations are tax deductible.

The Mission of CWNF is to provide natural resources conservation education to the public in an interactive, hands-on environment.

The Central Wisconsin Nature Foundation begins with a simple concept: Let's inform the public about the many endangered species located in Central Wisconsin so they can be protected from harm. A group of local Rome residents formed a board of directors, and charged them with creating a business plan for building a nature center.

To facilitate their plan, the CWNF partnered with the Town of Rome and Wisconsin River Power Company in stewardship of Twin Lakes Nature Preserve. Located on County Road Z, between Apache Avenue and Aniwa Court, Twin Lakes Nature Preserve consists of 45 acres of woods and wetlands bordering the Lake Petenwell flowage.

CWNF's objective is to preserve the natural wilderness area as much as possible while encouraging public access.
